Have no fear. I'm alive and well, in both my lives! Been having a blast with Second Life. Dancing, earning Lindens, meeting people, wandering around, and chatting with some D-landers who've delved into SL as well. Being able to "see" each other while chatting creates a whole new dimension to those friendships. I was dancing in a cage in a dance club/casino, making some Lindens (i.e. L$3 per 12 mins of dancing), and some guy walked by and tipped me! Another new friend gifted me some Lindens and I've gifted other people. It's sweeeeet! And then there's the weird shit. Like a naked bald guy with a rather offensive (racist) screen name who walked up to me with a big erection while I was dancing and asked "Wanna have sex?" I politely declined. He asked "Why?" JESUS. Fuck off, tool. I said I hadn't had sex on SL yet. He asked if I wanted to have sex later. Jesus, what a pig. NO. Not now, not later, not EVER. That's what I wanted to say. But I was STILL polite and said "probably not." Then he offered friendship (via a button you click) and I declined. Then he (finally) ignored me and danced around nude, with his man unit bouncing around. Ya know, I don't have a problem if people wanna be naked on SL, but we were in a club where everyone was clothed. The fucker obviously has no clue. I nicknamed him "Dickie McWeenie." Thankfully, he teleported off a few minutes later. Hopefully he found a nude beach and a prostitute. As far as real life goes, I've been getting stuff organized and cleaned. I managed to get my new nightstand in the bedroom where it belongs. I wanted to vacuum the area really good first, which is why I waited so long. Plus you know, I'm lazy. Anyhoo, it looks adorable and it frees up more space since it's more compact than the table I was using. I've got several errands to run today including renewing my lease, moving a CD into my checking account (the one that I'll lose some interest on because the bastards auto-rolled it into another one before I got back to town). Then I have a few items to pick up at the store. It's supposed to be cold, rainy and snowy this weekend, so I'm hoping that they have those Duraflame-type logs still in stock. I'm all out at the moment and it's ticking me off. Last night, while on a dance pad earning money in SL, I watched "Before Sunset" (sequel to "Before Sunrise" with Ethan Hawke and Julie Delphy). I'd heard it was good, and I really enjoyed it. Those two are so natural together. But Ethan Hawke hasn't aged well. He needs to whiten his teeth for one. And the shirt he was wearing was god-awful. Considering he only had one outfit on in the whole movie, you'd THINK the costume department could've made a bit more effort. And that he has enough money to get his something pointy-looking chompers un-grayed. I HAVE kept up with my knitting, and I'm nearly done with this skein of yarn for the fat green scarf. Not sure if I'm going to use the second one or not. Probably so, since the scarf isn't quite long enough yet. I'll have to figure out how to add on new yarn. I hope I don't fook it up (Hi Smash!) After I run my errands, I think I'll pop on those first two episodes of "Rome." I wish I could get the whole series at once, but that means I'd have to upgrade my membership and pay more to have more DVDs out at once. Screw that. Hopefully I can get a few more things done around here this weekend. I'm planning on selling some more CDs and DVDs to Second Spin to help pad my checking account a bit more. Plus I need extra room for new stuff. Eventually I should start job hunting again. But not yet. With any luck, I can learn how to make a little side income with SL. I'll need to learn scripting and building though. But there are tons of tutorials. I might buy and rent land, start a design business, or find some writing gigs. Not quite sure yet. Time will tell! In the meantime, I should get ready to run my errands. And I need to dig out all my tax paperwork and get that ready soon. Oy...I hate when real life beckons.
