Criminey...has it really been over a week since I last updated? It's been an intense and very interesting 8 days. Shortly after my last post, I happened to start a conversation on SL with the co-owner of one of my favorite dancing haunts. It's actually a casino in the sky, located on an island. But the dance pads are always hoppin' and I've made quite a few Lindens dancing there. At any rate, what I thought would be a short chat turned into us talking ALL NIGHT LONG down by the beach. Ditto the next evening. We have so much in common, it's eerie. He lives in my Dad's hometown and spent summers in my Mom's hometown. He's ambitious, smart, funny, kind and sexy. Plus, he's crazy about me. After a few days, we wound up talking on the phone. I KNOW! It was such a natural progression though. I told him that if he turned out to be a serial killer or stalker, I would snap his neck like a twig. Heh. We talked all night long, and had to take several breaks to recharge our phones. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. I give him tons of shit and tease him incessantly, but he totally gets my sense of humor and I can be myself around him. We've talked on the phone numerous times since, exchanged emails and chat on SL or via Google Talk. There's been discussion of us meeting in real life sometime this year, but for now, we're going to see how things go. I'm crazy about him, but I don't want to rush into something too intense too soon. I gave him my Diaryland URL a few days ago, so he's been reading my archives here and there. (*Hi sweetie!*) In other news, I found out I won a SL writing contest that I entered on the 8th. The topic was "Easter: Whatcha doin'?" I was awarded $25 Lindens and my story will be published in a little book in that group's library for others to read. Woot! I happened to meet the owner of the SL Enquirer last night, and I hope to chat with her in the future about freelance or staff jobs. I also need to get in touch with the editor of the main SL paper regarding opportunities. I've got a few other SL job prospects on the horizon that I'm looking forward to. I realize I'm gonna to have to get a RL job here at some point, but I've still got enough time and money to play, explore and try lots of different things on SL. And...I changed my look for a spell. I bought some pigtails (6 different colors I can wear -- I went with pink to match this outfit my sweetie [P] bought for me). Check me out!
I have been flirting and meeting other guys for fun. P is aware of this (long discussion last night) and while he's not thrilled, he understands I need to do my own thing. He loves to flirt too, but isn't seeking attention from the opposite sex like I am. In fact, he spends most of his time on SL working, marketing and promoting the casino. As I told him, we only recently met, and to protect myself, I can't get *too* wrapped up in one guy right off the bat. What P and I have now is so far beyond any other relationship I have on SL, because 1) it has already extended to RL and 2) we have such an amazing connection, so in many ways, it's a whole other ballgame. He blows every other guy out of the water, but still, I can't put all my eggs in one basket. As time progresses and if/when things between us continue to deepen, as I hope they will, then I'll start reigning in my sassiness around other men. For now, I'm just sowing some wild SL oats here and there. But I need to stop spending so much time online and focus on RL stuff for a spell. The apartment is a mess, and there are bills to pay and errands to run. I set up a dentist appointment for next week, and I should probably get in to see my GP soon as well. As long as I'm paying for COBRA, I should use it as much as possible. And oh...there's much drama on the family front which I'll relay in my next post. Dad was home in Houston for the weekend and mom is going BONKERS. I have no idea how she's going to put up with him once he sells the house in Baton Rouge. Lordy, lordy. What a mess. Alright, peoples, I'm off to take care of my real life. Hope yours are going swimmingly (I need to catch up on reading my buddies!) Ciao!
