YEE-HAW!

Well howdy, peoples. How long has it been since I last updated? Let's see here...*digs around site*...87 days.

HOLY FUCK!

I could give you a long list of excuses, but I've already used "distracted by something shiny," so let's just cut to the chase, shall we?

I'm still cruising off my savings, thereby avoiding the crushing weight of the pointy steel-toed boot of THE MAN. My master plan (*evil cackle and tent fingers*) is to squibble by until January. That way, it will be ONE FULL YEAR and that's a good "sabbatical" timeframe, since I already passed the other good timeframes of 3, 6 and 9 months. Plus, staying up half the night and sleeping in whenever I want ROCKS.

I'm wondering if I can somehow leave 2007 off my resume altogether. If a potential employer catches it, I can lean in and whisper "Let's just say cute feet attract weird men, but rich ones." Then I'd wink.

Once I was promptly escorted from the office, my almost-boss will thank me for my time, and then, after looking over his shoulder, quietly ask for my business card. What he wouldn't know is that I'd met all my clients under the pretense of a job interview. (As IF I had any interest in joining a rapidly-growing company seeking a reliable Data Entry Technician).

*rolls eyes*

So while I have not been exactly chasing my next dream job (or really, you know, looking), I HAVE been able to parlay my tips from hostessing at a few clubs on Second Life into actual cash, so that helps pay a few small bills each month. And no, I don't strip or dance nude anywhere...yet. (Oh!)

I did give up my original hostessing job last month due to "sim politics" and drama, plus the fact I hadn't been paid in over 3 months! They were having a money crunch, and I tried to stick it out, but in the end, it wasn't worth it. I was tipped here and there, and finally had to set out a tip jar to encourage more of it, though I didn't really make much.

I landed another hostessing job over the summer, at a fabulous little gay club, and surround myself with fabulous BIG gorgeous gay men, who have turned out to be great friends and very generous tippers! It's like being Grace in a hot disco sea of Wills and Jacks!

And yes, they all DO really love Kathy Griffin. Another thing: I thought us girls took a lot of time to dress and get ready to party on SL, but we have NOTHING on the gay boys. Good lord do they love to shop. A new outfit every night. Which is odd, since they wind up wearing only leather pants within 20 minutes of their arrival at any gay club. (As if I mind. Mucho eye candy!) And I must say it's fantastic hanging out with people who love dick as much as I do! (Sassy, who ME?)

Heh.

In other news, fall temps have FINALLY arrived here in Lexington and I am LOVING it! I have begun making my cozy weather preparations: Freshly-washed snuggly blankies, pantry stocked with spoon vittles and chili fixins, gloves and jacket ready to wear in the downstairs closet, new candles purchased and strategically placed for maximum cozy-ocity, fireplace cleaned and waiting for the first log of the season, nuts and berries gathered and stored in the shed, shotgun oiled up and hung over the front door, deer meat smokin' in the hollowed oak tree, and Pa should be back any minute with a new bearskin.

Why is it that I can't help thinking of Little House on the Prairie when cooler temps roll around? Speaking of which, I best get to scrubbing the kettle or Ma will cook my goose! (Blind Mary keeps scrubbing the same things over and over. Me-n-Mister Edwards get such a laugh over that). Oh, and one of these days I'll have to tell you 'bout the time Mary was giving Carrie a bath and scrubbed her face clean OFF! The blood! The screaming! Lordy, that was hoot. Except when I had to clean out the tub. Geh. I guess that's what I get for laughing. And accidentally spilling a bag of salt on Carrie afterwards.

Oops.

Anyhooooo, that's enough out of me for now, gang. I'm off to party like it's 1899 (yes, jigs and hootch will most assuredly be involved).
