I just about peed my pants when my upper-middle-class, upper-middle-aged, white, pantsuit-and-pearl-wearing mother told me she needed a "little more 'bling-bling'" in her wardrobe. I don't know where I'm going with this, but my point is: I feel your street cred pain.
