Hey, is your mom a first-born?
I am a last-born and when I was working on my queen-sized quilt I had my oldest sister help me. She was DYING to rip stuff out and start over again. I, on the other hand, said "No way, we're almost done and ready to move on to the next step. No one will ever notice it."
Since it was MY quilt, she gave it up. But if it was hers, she would have ripped stuff out and started again until it was quite nearly perfect. Oh those first-borns.
